Creamy Classic Hummus

A protein-packed, plant-powered dip that’s as versatile as it is delicious.

🥣 Ingredients:

1½ cups cooked chickpeas (or 1 can, drained and rinsed)

¼ cup tahini (sesame seed paste)

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus more for drizzling)

1–2 cloves garlic (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lemon

½ tsp cumin powder (optional, for extra depth)

Salt to taste

2–4 tbsp cold water (for texture)

Paprika or chili powder (for a kick)

Fresh parsley, finely chopped

Toasted sesame seeds

A drizzle of olive oil

1. Blend the base:
In a food processor or high-speed blender, combine chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Blend until it begins to form a smooth paste.


2. Add olive oil and water:
Drizzle in olive oil while blending. Slowly add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired creamy consistency.


3. Taste and adjust:
Add more lemon juice, garlic, or salt as needed. Blend again for extra smoothness.


4. Serve it right:
Transfer to a bowl, swirl with a spoon, drizzle olive oil on top, and sprinkle your favorite toppings.
